Diagnostic Essay Revised

Super -Leadership is the ability to change the decorum of the masses through rhetoric and appealing legitimacy at an impossible level. It is not necessarily mind-control because many individuals who fall witness to Super-Leadership will maintain control of their free-will. My superpower of Super -Leadership would be a peaceful solution for a majority of the indiscretions facing my generation that the entire world could adhere to. I’ve always admired Gandhi. He was a much stronger person than I am. It would also give me a clearly defined purpose in life. I would be absolutely sure what I am to be in life. I do not intend on staying at Dairy Queen. It has not been an easy ride. However it taught me work ethic. All the double shifts have grown on me. However, it is the reason I would like to be a leader. Now I know I can strive forward.

There are a plethora of vices that plague mankind. From poverty to political corruption we effect ourselves negatively and our surrounding environment. We have an excessive amount of ego-centrism which needs to be purged. I would take my mission worldwide. From the highest mountain to the lowest sea sponge my philosophies would spread like a virus. Personally, the first place I would choose to wield this power is Europe. Europe is at the center of the map therefore influential. From here, the world can observe how truly passionate I would be about changing the corruption of worldly matters. Like doctor Martin Luther King, Gandhi, and others before them I would do so peacefully. I would promote the study of higher thought. For example: the concept of an individual being a part of whole. Most people go throughout life advancing their own current states of being. We never stop to help an elderly woman across the street. We never have the urge just to do something nice. We In turn, we do selfish things such as littering or tearing down what according to society is a less than exceptional way of life i.e. your so-called “slums”. Sometimes, it is not taken into account that people live in these places. We go every day taking what we have for granted. One thing I would not do, however, is use this superpower to become the worlds acceptable definition of a leader. One would want to stay in a position that average normal people can relate to. Anyone can listen to presidential speeches and a sermon by the pope and take that as face value. History has taught us that leadership cannot always be trusted. History has taught us that our authorities are human themselves. Unfortunately, a main component of human character is greed. A position of authority by its very nature has the ability to change people often in a negative way. In my opinion, it would take someone with translucent power (non-eminent) for the populous to realize that this person is less likely to be self-indulgent.

The next place I would travel to, taking into consideration that I would have the pecuniary freedom to do so, would be a third-world country. I would also convince several others to accompany me on my visit. I would have translators, other spokesman, and maybe someone famous. After all, Super-charisma would be the one thing I needed to persuade these individuals to help me. Over time this power would evolve from me simply “influencing the masses” to a full on reformation project. The young will be involved. It is time the new generation stepped up and advanced the country. The youth will inherit what their fathers left for them. They need someone to guide them in these trying times.

English 111 Course Evaluation (Gaspero)

Being in Mr. Gaspero's class this year taught me that I needed to get into the college mindset as quick as possible. Enforcing our transition into independence, he placed everything that we needed on blackboard. Blackboard made it our responsibility to pass the class. There were no excuses to be made in terms of due dates. Anything that we needed help on, he would be more than happy to oblige. He is very patient in terms of dealing with issues that students may confront during the assignment processes. Mr. Gaspero made the class intriguing from the very start. Interesting subject matters were brought forth which required us to think beyond what we would normally associate ourselves with. There were times when he was light-hearted and provided a cheerful atmosphere. However, when he was serious, he conveyed the importance of what he knew we needed to be diligent about. He made it clear that it was our responsibility to get the grade. Sometimes, the directions for assignments were unclear to me. The fact that I didn’t utilize the blackboard postings might have had something to do it. I did not particularly enjoy the concepts of ethos, pathos, and logos. I acknowledge that these three traits of the argumentative essay were a necessity. However, these were a little less than interesting. We also viewed a motion picture about the artist Bruce Springstein. The message of the video was clearly understood, and Mr. Gaspero's intention for showing the video was explicit. Nevertheless, the video did not capture my interest as much as I would have liked it to. Towards the end of the course we had to compose an argument essay. Though the criteria for the assignment were evident, the 1500 word minimum was a tad perplexing. I can usually relay informative information in relatively fewer words. The 1500 word minimum was indeed to expand our ability to provide a significant amount of detail. It is my opinion that if you can convey a message efficiently then there is no need for the excess. What I learned about myself is that I need to pay attention. Procrastination was a main reason why i did not achieve my highest capabilities in the class. Upon entering the class, i had hoped for a plethora of controversial topics. I wanted to talk about the issues the world faces in the modern day. I had anticipated a debate class to be honest. I did note that during some of the topics we discussed, students were becoming verbally hostile. This was not swearing or insulting. It was people who disagreed and did not want to succumb to the fact that they were indeed wrong. This made the class very interesting at times. An interesting subject that, in my opinion, took up more time in the classroom than it should have was the health industry crises. Albeit, to know the information that was presented would be beneficiary, I would have liked to study more diverse topics. He taught the class professionally. He moved around and used gestures to keep us engaged. I did not have a problem staying awake in that class. I have had stationary teacher before and i would immediately fall asleep after the first 15 minutes. He'd frequently ask questions to the entire class. He rarely called anyone out unless they were blatantly being ignorant. Overall, the class was what a college course should have been. I believe if you have strong work ethic, and you are an opinionated individual you would do just fine and you'll enjoy the class. If not this course may not be for you.
